See the U.S.S. Iowa during her last days in the Bay Area

The Iowa is currently being restored at the Richmond shipyards and will soon be towed to southern California to become a museum. Work is being done during the week, but she is open for viewing on the weekends.

The CA VII board has agreed to pay the $10 admission for any CA VII member who attends, plus the admission for one guest — basically $20 per couple.

This is a destination ride, meet at the Iowa on Sunday, March 11th, 10:00 AM. We can tour the Rosie the Riveter Park afterwards, then find some place for lunch near-by.

You must RSVP to me (via our Yahoo board) no later than Friday afternoon, March 9th, if you want me to have your admission money Sunday morning. You can always show up at the last minute, but the price of admission will be on you. I don’t want to go into my own pocket, and I’m not going to mail out checks later.

I think this address should work in Google Maps for directions. It should get us close anyway, and then we should probably see it. After all it’s a friggin’ battleship!
