Treasurer:
The duties of the Chapter Treasurer are defined in Article VI, Section 6.02 of
the By-Laws of The Blue Knights' International Motorcycle Club, Inc.
Regular members in-good-standing, may hold
the position of Chapter Treasurer. In the absence of a Regular member that
volunteers for the Treasurer Position, an Associate member may hold the position
of Chapter Treasurer. In the absence of an Associate Member that volunteers for
the Treasurer position, an Honorary Member may hold the position of Chapter
Treasurer. The Chapter Treasurer shall have custody of all funds and property
of the Chapter, subject to the discretion of the Chapter President. He may be
required to give bond for the faithful performance of his duties, in such sum
and with such sureties as the Executive Board may require. He shall have the
fiduciary responsibility of receiving and depositing all funds in the name of
the Chapter in such bank, trust or credit union account(s) as designated by the
Executive Board and shall be a co-signer on all accounts as necessary to
complete his duties. He shall keep accurate record of all receipts and
disbursements. When necessary and proper, he shall sign his name to Chapter
Checks, notes and other instruments on behalf of the Chapter. He shall not make
any disbursement of funds in excess of $100.00 without the prior expressed
consent of a majority of the remainder of the Executive Board, except checks
made out to "Blue Knights' International" for the purpose of paying Member Dues
or meeting recognized financial obligations, including those financial
obligations to Blue Knights' International, Inc. as they become due. He shall
keep a full and accurate account of all monies and obligations received and
paid, or incurred by him on behalf of the Chapter and shall exhibit such records
or books at all reasonable times to any Executive Board member. He shall make a
full financial report at the annual meeting, and upon request, any meeting of
the Executive Board.
In addition to those duties and responsibilities outlined in the International
By-Laws, our Chapter Treasurer has the following additional duties and
responsibilities based upon tradition and past practices: under the supervision
of the Chapter President, ensure the chapter funds are collected diligently,
invested wisely and expended in a manner that in the best interest of the
general membership. The Chapter Treasurer shall devise and implement fundraising
efforts on behalf of the Chapter (and it's designated charities), as necessary
to ensure adequate funds for any debts or necessary expenditures. The Chapter
Treasurer shall have the responsibility of ensuring an ample stock of chapter
sales items (pins, shirts, patches) is maintained and ordered in a timely
manner.
These responsibilities may be delegated to other Executive board members or
appointed members-in-good-standing (such as a Quartermaster, appointed by the
Chapter President), but the general responsibility for the completion of these
tasks falls upon the Chapter Treasurer.
