I have been remiss in getting the particulars out for this weekends Season Opener ride. But not for lack of riding. Was thinking about a ride to the top of Mount Hamilton and the Lick Observatory. But after pre-riding it, I was concerned that it might be just a bit daunting for some as an initial ride. Lots of steep uphill and downhill switchbacks with sheer drops at the edge of the roadway. And there was the snow at the summit!

So I've modified the ride to be half as long with a curious little destination. So here is the plan:

10:15 - 10:30 AM
meet and greet at the Dublin Chevron station at San Ramon Valley Blvd and Dublin Blvd.

10:30 Am
Kick stands up we will be heading East on 580 to the N.Livermore Blvd. Cruising south through downtown to Tesla Rd. Then on to Mines Rd to continue through the pass to the backwoods of Livermore. Well past the wineries and into the farmlands.

We will end up at the Junction Bar and Grill at 47300 Mines Rd. A curious little stop, that is a throw back to Mom and Pop stores of the mid-west. Where we have the option for lunch or a quick turn about. Although not a long ride, it does have many components to work on your riding skills.
