GOOD OLD DAYS PARADE INFORMATION SHEET

DIRECTIONS & INFORMATION

Directions: From Highway 1, take the 68 west exit to Pacific Grove.  Take a right at the exit to Pacific Grove.  You will go past the hospital on the right.  Continue for a couple of miles until you come into town.  Go through Prescott Avenue and David Avenue stoplights.  After you go through the David Avenue stoplight, stay in the left lane as 68 veers to the left and turns into Sunset Drive. You will see Pacific Grove High School on the left.  Stay on Sunset through one stop sign and take a right at the second stop sign, onto 17 Mile Drive.  Then do one of the following:

Vehicular and Marching Entries Only – Directions (continued):

Once you are on 17 Mile Drive, take a right at the first stop sign onto Sinex Avenue.  The rear of the parade is the next left (Alder Street).  If your car is in the parade, you may proceed up Alder, park on Alder until it starts to get congested and walk the rest of the way to the Pine Avenue intersection to register.  After you have registered and received your parade order number, please find your position in relation to the other entries.  After you have registered, be sure you are with your vehicle at all times so that you can move it if necessary.

Parking for Vehicles NOT in the Parade: Buses and cars not in the parade CANNOT be parked along Alder Street because it will become too congested.  You may park along Sinex Avenue at the end of Alder Street, or if you would prefer you can park at the dispersal area at the end of the parade, near Robert Down School (see map).  You probably won't be able to park on Pine Street in the dispersal area because officials will be preparing the motorcycle competition there, but you can park on one of the side streets.

Register upon Arrival:  Be sure to register and pick up your identification number as soon as you arrive, to avoid the last-minute rush.  If you do not have that number, you will not know your order in the parade, we won't know that you have arrived and the announcer will not have any information on you.  Once you get your number, go to your numerical position in the parade.  Tie your number on your right arm or the right side of your vehicle so the announcer at the reviewing stand can see it.  Keep checking with other entries as they arrive to make sure you are still in the correct parade order.  There will be staff to assist you in finding your place.

Moving Parade: Please keep in mind that this is a MOVING PARADE.  Please be sure not to allow large gaps between entries.  We want the parade to be lively and fun to watch and to be in!!!

Rest Rooms:  There will be porta-potties available near the registration area.
