4th Annual Eastern Sierra Ride:
September 11th-13th, 2009
This year we will be heading Northeast
and visiting another area of the
beautiful Eastern Sierra:
Susanville, Ca.
I have tentatively identified lodging in
the area which is close by stores and
the few eating establishments in the
little town.
The HIGH COUNTRY INN will
be our gathering spot. You can call
them directly at:
1-(866)-454- 4566 toll free or
1-(530) 257-3450. Presently they
do not take reservations on-line but you
can view their property here: http://www.high-
country-inn. com/
The dates for the ride are Friday,
09/11/09 through Sunday, 09/13/09. You
can choose to stay one or both nights.
This is a destination ride. You can form
your own group and map your own route.
I am
working with them to see if it will be
better to block rooms or just let
everyone reserve their own rooms on
their own. As soon as I know more, I'll
update the information. The hotel has an
attached restaurant, and is within
walking distance to other
eating/drinking businesses. There is
also a shopping center close so we can
pick up our usual (chapter provided)
liquid refreshments and snacks.
This is a destination ride. Leave at
your own time and ride at your own pace.
Set up a group ride and map your own
route if you wish, but just get
there!
(Due to the fact
that this date
coincides with the
9-11 Memorial, there may
be special routes
or other ideas to commorate the day
included with this event).
As tradition holds, there will likely be
a lunch ride on Saturday (9/12) lead by
our capable and highly experienced Ride
Director Tom Lashbrook, who's been on
every rideable and not so rideable road
in
California and
beyond!
(Is there any place to where
Tom hasn't ridden yet)?
So mark your calenders NOW for one of
the best rides of the year! We've always
had a lot of fun on these rides, so
don't miss out!
Stand-by for additional info as the date
draws near.

More INFO
Hello Fellow Knights,
I’m taking a rest day in New
Hampshire, having my RT serviced, and giving myself
a break before going on to Maine tomorrow. So, I’m
catching up on some other business.
I’ve been in contact with the
manager, Joe, at the High Country Inn, Susanville.
The High Country will be our host hotel for the
upcoming Eastern Sierra Weekend. The Blue Knight
rate will be $70 per night plus tax for a single;
$75 per night plus tax for a double. The dates will
be Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.
The High Country Inn can be
reached at:
1-530-257-3450 or
1-866-454-4566
Make sure you ask for the Blue
Knight rate.
If you would, please go to the
current poll regarding the Susanville ride, and
vote. Please double check to see if your email
address is listed. A few weeks ago Yahoo took it
upon itself to reformat my questions, and eat some
of the early responses.
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/bkca7/surveys?id=2874939
Not only will the poll tell me
about interest in a poker run; it will help me judge
a head count for the Saturday lunch. Which will be a
BBQ hosted by our chapter’s very own Susanville area
resident, Mark Murray.
Questions? I’m usually checking
my email, and our Yahoo Group, on the road each
night.
RWP,
Tom Lashbrook
