Ride for Kids October 4, 2009 Solano
Community College 4000
Suisun Valley Road Fairfield, CA

I want to invite every member of this Chapter and any other Blue Knights Chapters to join thousands of riders, coast to coast, for the Ride for Kids. This year you’ll have the opportunity to join and ride in the very first Northern California Ride for Kids event.
With CA
VII involved in the Ride for Kids for
the past several years, I hope you’re familiar with the event and where your
donations are being utilized. If not,
check out these two websites: http://ride4kids.org/ and http://www.pbtfus.org/. Ok, now that you’re familiar with the
charity, and the Ride for Kids, let’s
talk about our involvement in the ride.
Of course you can pay your $35 registration and enjoy the ride and
festivities OR you can start your own fundraising webpage at www.firstgiving.com
OR you can solicit sponsorships from family, co-workers, friends and
neighbors. Finally, if you cannot attend
the event, make a contribution at my website www.firstgiving.com/CaptJohn
or to Tom Lashbrook’s website www.firstgiving.com/tlash or
Joe & Deborah Fazio’s website www.firstgiving.com/TheFazios.
There are two ways you can join your fellow members of CA VII for the Northern
California Ride for Kids on the 4th.
1st
you can ride directly to the Solano Community College and pay your $35
registration for the ride--Registration
will run 0800-0945 hrs. 2nd
any member or friend of the Chapter that would like to join Jim Alexander and
me for the ride to Fairfield on October 4th should meet us at the
following location and time: Marie Callender’s aka Long’s Parking Lot in Walnut Creek at the Intersection of
Olympic & California Blvds at 0730 hrs.
Our plan is to leave Long’s at 0745 hrs, SHARP!
If you’d like to lead your own ride to the event, please, post it on the
YahooGroups website.
FYI: The
police escorted ride begins at 1000 hrs, SHARP and will last approximately 90
minutes. There will be coffee, pastries
and juice provided in the morning. After
the ride, there’ll be bag lunches, soft drinks and water provided. After lunch, the “Celebration of Life” will begin, where you’ll meet some young
survivors and learn what’s being done to cure and treat that horrible disease
from the experts.
If
you’d like to be an escort and have one of the children or family members ride
with you on your motor, email me for details and I’ll email you the proper
forms. Wear your colors with pride!
If you have any questions, don’t
hesitate to email me at jfredrik@pacbell.net
Ride with Pride and I’ll see you on the 29th. John Fredriksson
