CHAPTER VII RIDE TO WCC – CHEYENNE
Greetings BK7 Members,
March 2013
Time is now for those interested in riding to WCC to make your
arrangements. This year your fellow members, Her Own Self: Dennis Brown,
plus Todd Farris, and JD Diskon will be leading the way to Cheyenne.
Tina Diskon will be driving chase car in her VW wagon. If you have CB on
your bike, be sure it works.
First thing you need to do is go to the WCC conference registration
website page, download the registration form, and send it back to
Wyoming I with the fees. Be sure to note all the other items of interest
= freebies.
Now you need hotel/motel reservations. WY I informs me that the host
hotel, The Plains Hotel, is already sold out. You are encouraged by them
(WY I) to call the Plains anyway to check for cancellations. Be sure to
mention you are a BK. If no room available, the Plains will refer you to
a nearby Holiday Inn. The Plains number is 307 638 3311. Call them!
The following info gives you our BK7 daily ride schedule, and the
motels/hotels where we will be stopping:
Aug 5th – KSU at 0800 from the Fairfield Starbucks, 4490 Central Way
(take the Suisun Valley Road exit) enroute the Winnemucca Inn, 741 W.
Winnemucca Blvd. 775-623-2565. Stops along the way at Nyack, and East
Fernley, NV for lunch. Call the hotel NOW to make your reservation. Ride
miles from Oakland approx. 378.
Aug 6th – We leave early for Salt Lake City. Our hotel is the Holiday
Inn Express-Airport East, 200 North 2100 West (I know, weird address)
1-801-741-1500. Call NOW… HOS Brown will advise on stops along the way.
Ride miles approx. 354
Aug 7th – We leave when HOS says so for Rawlins. Our hotel is the
Holiday Inn, 201 Airport Rd. 1-307-324-3760. Call NOW… Our talented
guide, HOS Brown, will advise on gas and chow stops as soon as he is
satisfied with his makeup. Ride miles approx.. 292
Aug 8th – We can sleep in a bit, then head for Cheyenne, and your hotel.
This segment is approx. 150 miles, or 2.5 hours. Once again, your grumpy
old buddy, Cement Saddle Bag Brown, will lead us to gas and breakfast.
(Ask him to explain that handle)…
For those who might want to put some (small) extra luggage, gear, etc.,
in the chase car, please contact
johndiskon@comcast. net
to make arrangements.
Please advise me (or Dennis, or Todd) if you intend to participate in
this Chapter ride to Cheyenne.
